As the eye is the only organ that can be viewed internally, it frequently shows the first indication of other systemic diseases. Consequently, regular eye examinations by an ophthalmologist not only help maintain optimal vision, but also provide a first line of defense against future medical problems through early diagnosis. Our office is geared for adults and children over age five. We are happy to direct you to competent pediatric ophthalmology specialists for children under five.

Our ophthalmologists can provide as much or as little eye care as you need. You may desire only a refraction (check for glasses) or a complete eye examination, including dilation of the pupils and a series of tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye, and a number of other eye diseases. If you have a dilated eye examination in our office, it is helpful to have someone drive you home afterward because you may experience blurred vision and light sensitivity for several hours.

We pride ourselves in offering on-site advanced diagnostic testing for glaucoma diagnosis and management. Our Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) Scanner performs a painless 10-minute test that monitors the progression of glaucoma by measuring the nerve fiber layer thickness in the retina. We also have the capability of visual field testing with the Humphrey Perimeter and corneal thickness determination for more accurate eye pressure readings.

We offer a wide range of contact lens fittings, including bifocal contacts and toric lenses for astigmatism. Our office also offers Paragon CRT contacts that reshape your eye during sleep and allows you to function during the day without wearing the contacts. (Click for more information)
